Nokia has officially announced prices for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones in along with pre-orders in Europe. In Russia, the Lumia 920 has been priced at $801 (Rs 42,597), while the Lumia 820 has been priced at $640 (Rs 34,000). In Germany, Nokia is pricing the Lumia 920 at $836 (Rs 44,458) and the Lumia 820 for $643 (Rs 34,194). Likewise in Italy the pricing for the Lumia 920 is locked at $771(Rs 41,000) which is slightly cheaper than Germany and Russia. (more…)Google+

Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore today showed off a few new features in Windows Phone 8 while saving the best for “a later date”. Finally, Windows Phone users will be able to take screenshots by pressing the power and home button combination. Nokia has plans to announce smartphones running on Windows Phone 8 operating system at its annual Nokia World event in Helsinki, which begins on September 5. Bloomberg reports that the handsets would be launched before the year-end holiday shopping season. The timing of the announcement is not surprising as Nokia has traditionally announced its flagship products at Nokia World. Nokia empowers its developers with a tool called RDA or Remote Device Access, from which the developer can remotely test their applications via a browser on any Nokia device. Well, this tool has had an unexpected side effect which will not impress the folks from Helsinki. According to GSM Arena, the RDA tool has leaked six Nokia smartphones that are under development.
