Microsoft has released a major update for its Outlook.com app for Android devices that flaunts a new user interface along with a number of feature additions to bring it at par with Windows 8 and web versions. With this update, the app sheds the old look to feature a cleaner, better arranged, user friendly interface, and carries several new features including more interactive thread-based conversations, adds filters for unread and flagged mails, and the ability to mark messages as junk. Microsoft has revealed via Twitter it has over 1 million registered users for its just-announced Outlook.com email service. A preview for the revamped webmail service, which will phase out Hotmail was announced less than 12 hours ago. It is unclear at the moment how many users migrated from Hotmail and how many were new signups but we expect Microsoft to drop some numbers sooner than later.
