As suspected, Microsoft has sent out invites to the press for a October 25 Windows 8 launch event in New York. Previously, the company had confirmed that the public release of Windows 8 will happen on October 26. Microsoft has just unveiled its own Windows 8 tablet, which it is calling Surface. It has a 10.6-inch display, weighs 576 grams and has a Magnesium coated casing.
