Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has signified a shift in the fundamental way Microsoft conducts its business in a letter to shareholders. He cities the impeding launches of the Surface RT tablet and Windows 8 and notes that it’s a “significant shift”. As suspected, Microsoft has sent out invites to the press for a October 25 Windows 8 launch event in New York. Previously, the company had confirmed that the public release of Windows 8 will happen on October 26.
