There is an arms race of sorts in the smartphone industry. It is a race to have the latest and greatest hardware specifications that can be crammed into a phone. It doesn't seem to matter whether users really need that kind of hardware, whether the smartphone heats up or the battery drains twice in a day. All that matters is whether the device has the best specifications available. Motorola attempts to change that with the Moto X. It does not boast octa-core or even a quad-core processor and it doesn't even have a full HD 1080p display.
