Nokia has announced that Microsoft Office suite is now available for download on devices running Nokia Belle OS. The devices that can receive Microsoft’s killer app are the Nokia 701, Nokia 700, Nokia 603, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia C7, Nokia Oro, and Nokia C6-01. The app can be downloaded using the Nokia Software update tool or by connecting the phone to Nokia PC Suite. The Nokia PureView 808 is up for pre-bookings in Italy only for 599 Euros or Rs 40,434. The device was originally unveiled at MWC and it polarized opinion amongst the technocrati as it boasted of 41-Megapixel image sensor, but at the same time ran a dying operating system – Nokia Belle. After Nokia Anna and Nokia Belle, we had thought that the next software update that should be released was the Nokia Carla. However, it seems like the Finnish vendor has other plans on its mind for its recently announced Nokia PureView 808 and the previously launched 603, 700 and the 701 smartphones. A new Nokia Belle device has apparently been leaked and the smartphone in question is the Nokia 801 which looks more like the N9 sporting the same unibody button-less design. The Skype app has been finally made available to the Nokia Belle smartphones – the 600, the 700, the 701 and the 603. The app features free Skype-to-Skype calling and Instant Messaging. Last year when Nokia changed the name of the Symbian Belle OS to Nokia Belle, it also mentioned that the Belle update will be released in February 2012. Now, news is abuzz that the Finnish giant will most likely be rolling-out the the Nokia Belle update starting from February 8 for the Nokia N8, E7, E6, X7, C6-01, C7 and Oro. It is the end of an era or more accurately close to the end. Nokia has dropped the Symbian branding from its own smartphone OS and is now calling it Nokia Belle – no more Symbian S60 versions, just Nokia and the version name.
