Only a few days ago Nokia announced its new US flagship the Lumia 928. This new device is slimmer than the Lumia 920 and features high amplitude microphones, a larger speaker and a Xenon flash, but design wise it retains a polycarbonate body. But as we postulated this may not be the rumoured ‘Catwalk’ device on Saturday, Nokia has just posted a teaser video for its next Lumia device that is scheduled to be launched on Tuesday in London, which looks different from the Lumia 928. One of the headlining features of the Nokia Asha line of phones is the Xpress Browser, that the company claims can compress up to 90 percent of data. Nokia has now released a version of the browser for its Lumia range of Windows Phones. It is worth noting this browser is based on the Opera Mini browser. (more…)Google+

Nokia may be Microsoft’s favored partner for Windows Phone, but in the PC space it has always had favored partners like Dell and HP for a longtime and yet it went ahead and announced its own Surface tablets. Ahead of its September 5 announcement, Nokia seems pretty gung-ho about its new products and has laid out a warning to Samsung. Nokia’s executive VP of sales and marketing, Chris Webber took to Twitter and called out Samsung to ‘take note’ the upcoming Lumia phones. (more…)Google+

Nokia could announce two Windows Phone 8 devices at its annual Nokia World event on September 5. We have been hearing about Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 smartphones for a while now and Chinese website WPDang is claiming the first devices could be the Lumia 910 and Lumia 920. (more…)Google+

Europe’s four major carriers think that Nokia’s Lumia smartphones are not good enough to compete against the iPhone or Android smartphones, Reuters reports. The carriers who are looking for a third alternative to break iPhone’s and Android’s dominance don’t find the Lumia smartphones innovative enough and cite a lack of marketing and image issues after software and battery glitches. Nokia’s Q4 results for 2011 are out and by the looks of it things are slowly turning around for the Finnish mobility giant.
