A couple of days ago US carrier Verizon announced the Nokia Lumia 928, which is an upgraded version of the Nokia Lumia 920. Many expected it to be the rumored ‘Catwalk’ smartphone, but as earlier rumors indicated, we were expecting an aluminium chassis and today Nokia delivered a teaser of PureView camera equipped device that had a metallic chassis. Only a few days ago Nokia announced its new US flagship the Lumia 928. This new device is slimmer than the Lumia 920 and features high amplitude microphones, a larger speaker and a Xenon flash, but design wise it retains a polycarbonate body. But as we postulated this may not be the rumoured ‘Catwalk’ device on Saturday, Nokia has just posted a teaser video for its next Lumia device that is scheduled to be launched on Tuesday in London, which looks different from the Lumia 928. Nokia officially announces Lumia 928 for the US market

After a slew of leaked ads and images, Nokia has officially announced the Lumia 928 for the US market that will run on the Verizon network. The company is expected to unveil the international version of the same device on May 14. Essentially, this represents a minor upgrade to the Lumia 920, which was criticised for being overly bulky and the new smartphone brings aboard a more slimmer, lighter and attractive design that still retains an unibody polycarbonate chassis. During its Q1 2013 earnings call, Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop teased upcoming launch of new flagship Lumia and full-touch Asha smartphones. Elop mentioned in his opening remarks that Nokia along with an American carrier would launch its flagship Lumia smartphone. Nokia has been steadily diversifying its Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphone portfolio. It started out with the Lumia 920, but now it has five devices that run on Windows Phone 8 with the cheapest one costing below Rs 11,000. But the Finnish handset vendor is far from done and is planning to launch a phablet later this year to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note range of smartphones with big displays, FT reports. Nokia Lumia 520 gets an official price of Rs 10,499 in India

Only last week, Nokia had announced the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 in India. The Lumia 520 in particular garnered great interest in the public as it would displace the Lumia 620 as the cheapest Windows Phone 8 smartphone in India. But, there was a caveat. Nokia did not disclose the official price of the device, though the company hinted at a price of Rs 10,500. Well, now the device has gone up for pre-order on the Nokia India store for Rs 10,499.
