Galaxy Note 510 aka Note 8.0 up for pre-order for Rs 30,900 on Samsung India eStore

Last month, Samsung had announced that it will bring the Galaxy Note 510 also known as the Note 8.0 Android tablet to India in May. Originally, the tablet was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February as the Galaxy Note 8.0. As promised the tablet is now up for pre-order on the Samsung India eStore for Rs 30,900. Smartphones and tablets emerge to be the key drivers of the ‘Smart Connected Devices’ market comprising of PCs, Tablets and Smartphones, states International Data Corporation (IDC) in its latest report. IDC has released a detailed report on the number of products shipped last year which suggests that fourth quarter of 2012 recorded an increase of 28.3 percent in the shipments of these products, as compared to the previous year. We have previously reported in great detail that Samsung could launch an 8-inch version of its Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). Microsoft Surface Pro to start at $899 for 64GB model, will ship in January

Microsoft has finally announced the pricing for its Surface Pro tablet, which runs on Windows 8 OS that supports legacy apps consumers are accustomed to. The Surface Pro will start at $899 (Rs 49,184 approx) for the 64GB model and the 128 GB model will cost $999 (Rs 54,645 approx). Asus to launch the Nexus 7 tablet in November

Asus is reportedly planning to launch the Nexus 7 tablet in India in the month of November. The Next Web which reported the story quotes blogger RajuPP who was attending an event in Bangalore for the launch of the Asus PadFone, tweeted the announcement. Odd looking HTC tablet leaked, could be announced at IFA

Images of a rather odd looking HTC tablet have been leaked on social networking site Twitter by a user with the Twitter handle @evleaks. If this is not a fake, then the industrial design of the tablet will be rather ill-logical and unique as it has ultra-thin bezels on the top and the two sides, however sports quite a chunky bezel on the bottom. MapMyIndia has launched the CarPad 5, which is an 5-inch Android powered hybrid which doubles as a GPS navigator, a phone and a 3G tablet. The CarPad 5 sports a 5-inch capacitive display, a 1GHz single-core processor made by Samsung, 4GB of storage memory and also has built-in 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Later in the day, Microsoft will host a major announcement in Los Angels. Many have reported that it will be an in-house Windows 8 tablet, but today a report by TechCrunch points towards a Barnes  and Noble Windows tablet, that will perhaps take on the likes of the Amazon Kindle Fire which will also have Xbox Live streaming capabilities.
