Microsoft, as we had reported earlier, is planning to launch the next-gen Xbox codenamed the ‘Durango’ at the E3 in June this year, but now it seems the Redmond-based company has different plans. Specs of the next-generation Xbox are being leaked so often that it is getting increasingly hard to keep a track of all the things. Last year’s ‘Durango’ developer kit was the crowning achievement, but much more has been leaked even after that gargantuan leak. VGLeaks, the folks behind the original hardware specs leak, have posted screenshots of the Xbox developer kit which also seems to confirm a number of previously leaked rumors. But the new bit of information is an always on and always connected...

It’s perhaps a foregone conclusion that we will see a new Xbox at E3 in June. In fact only hours back we filled some more details about the product that has been codenamed Durango. Even Sony is hosting an event on February 20, which could be for the PlayStation 4, so a new Xbox is definitely in the works, but Microsoft will not admit it till it’s officially out. Talking at The D: Dive Into Media conference, Microsoft’s head of entertainment Yusuf Mehdi dropped a lot of hints at what to expect from the X...

The buzz surrounding the next generation consoles is gathering incredible momentum. Sony has already invited the press to an event on February 20 where it will in all likelihood unveil the next PlayStation console. Today a report even stated that the PlayStation 4 could have a starting price of $400, which is much lesser than what the PS3 had to begin with, but things have been rather quite on the Xbox side of things. After last years gargantuan leak, not much has come out in the open. But today there is some...

It is pretty much a given that 2013 is the year we will see Sony and Microsoft release the successors to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Most probably, both the companies will give a glimpse into their next generation consoles at E3, which will happen in June. An analyst from Games Industry is reporting that we could see a price point between $350-$400 for both the consoles. The report also claims that we could see Sony launch its product in October, while Microsoft could launch it in November. Both these...

This E3 we will most probably see two console launches, the Xbox 720 and the PlayStation 4 (PS4). Sony has already stopped production of the PlayStation 2, which further fuels thoughts about a PS4 for E3, but today the director of programming for Microsoft’s Xbox division, Larry Hryb, has posted a E3 countdown timer on his Major Nelson blog hinting at a new Xbox console. Approximately two months ago there was a massive leak regarding the Xbox 720 and it seems like the Microsoft leaky cauldron fails to stop as an image of the next generation Kinect has been leaked. Twitter user @Superdae has posted an image of what is supposedly a sample from the Kinect 2 running on the next generation Xbox development kit codenamed Durango. (more…)Google+

After E3, it became pretty apparent that Microsoft was not planning on releasing a new console in 2012. That said, it was only a matter of time before the company released a new console as Nintendo had already announced its Wii U and the competition has the leg up over the Xbox 360 in graphical firepower. The folks at NukeZilla confirmed this. as they uncovered a 56 page dossier for the development of the Xbox 720, Kinect 2 and a Kinect Glasses project. (more…)Google+
