Honor Play

Launched in India today with prices starting at Rs 19,999, the Honor Play is a gaming-centric smartphone that comes with flagship hardware. Powered by an AI chipset, Kirin 970, it comes with GPU Turbo mode to ensure smooth performance while consuming less battery. Honor will soon be rolling out a new update that will bring AI gaming with 4D support. Basically, it will offer stereo audio and vibration feedback to enhance your gaming experience.

Asus ROG Phone

At Computex 2018 in Taiwan, Asus unveiled the gaming-centric ROG Phone which comes with an overclocked Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. One of the highlights of the smartphone is that it features an AMOLED display with refresh rate of 90Hz.

Asus will also be selling accessories, such as a dock that will allow you to connect your ROG Phone to the PC using a mouse and keyboard, and pay PUBG on the PC. Then there is another accessory that will allow you to mirror the smartphone screen on your TV. The Asus ROG Phone is set to launch in India sometime next month.

Razer Phone

Razer, the popular brand that manufactures gaming laptop, launched the gaming-centric Razer Phone last year. The key highlight of the smartphone is that it comes with an IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. There is also a dedicated gaming mode to ensure you that enjoy a smooth gameplay. Besides, the smartphone also comes with Snapdragon 835 SoC, 8GB of RAM, 64GB storage and dual cameras. It also comes with a 4,000mAh battery to ensure you enjoy gaming for longer hours.

Xiaomi Black Shark

A few months ago, Xiaomi also launched the Black Shark gaming smartphone. Unlike the Razer Phone or ROG Phone, it does not feature a screen with higher refresh rate. Instead, Xiaomi has worked on the design a solid metal panel, with RGB lighting and Black Shark logo at the back. The phone comes with an 18:9 display, and is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

Xiaomi is also selling a controller inside which you can snap the phone and enjoy gaming. However, there is no word on whether or not the company plans to launch the phone in India.


While the above ones are dedicated gaming smartphones, there are smartphones from other manufacturers that can also be used for gaming graphics intense games. They don t include any gaming enhancements, but have the top-notch hardware to handle smooth playback. These phones include the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 6.


The flagship smartphones from Samsung include gaming mode that not only improves performance, but also blocks messages and calls to ensure you have a distraction free gameplay. The Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are some of the smartphones that will let you enjoy some of the best gaming experiences on Samsung device.


Earlier today, LG launched the G7+ ThinQ smartphone in India. One of the key highlights of the smartphone is the amount of artificial intelligence (AI) features that LG has packed in the phone. The smartphone also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, a configuration that is good enough to enjoy top games.

Oppo and Vivo

Both Chinese smartphone makers recently launched their smartphones powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC and 8GB of RAM. The Vivo NEX and Oppo Find X comes with unique features such as the pop-up cameras and full screen display without notch, but they come with powerful hardware as well, which should more than suffice your gaming needs.
