BioWare has been teasing one of its most ambitious projects Anthem since E3 last year, and now at E3 2018, we finally have a launch date for the game. BioWare announced that Anthem will release on February 22, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Now, those of you who are not familiar with Anthem’s premise yet, the game is an open-world shooter where players will have to don mechanical exosuits and battle creatures and factions of enemies to keep humanity alive that has been living in a protected city. Players will be free to roam and find objectives, enemies in groups, take patrol turns in ruins and play in special events, while getting loot drops as results.
Players will be able to play co-op with three of their friends to make groups of four and take on objective while having classic BioWare styled conversations choices that will affect what is to come next. BioWare explains that they went this way because they wanted to make a game that changes every time people play it.
The devs explained that there are different types of exosuits which are called ‘Javelins’, that players will be able to choose from and then they will be able to customize them any way they want. The enemies range from other groups of mechanical warriors, smaller monsters and then really big monsters the size of kaijus. Check out the trailer below.
The developers emphasize that teamwork is important to bring down these enemies and say that they wanted to create a game will the best elements of single player and multiplayer.
