The Fall Skirmish of Fortnite is now officially ended and we saw some exciting new events in it and even though it started out well, the later updates of the game became somewhat irregular. But now Epic Games if going for the tournament mode again and will be holding another one where everyone will be able to participate.
The new tournament from Fortnite will be called Winter Royale and it will be in an open for all format and will be held using the in-game tournament system. This tournament will be held in two stages that include the qualifiers and then the finals. And unlike previous tournaments, this one is going to be a solo tournament. The format will be pretty much the same as before where a player will be put in a random lobby with other players and those that score the most points in terms of outrageous finishes and eliminations will be the ones to move on to the finals. The finals will be held for a total prize pool of $1 million to be shared among the winners.
Though this tournament is going to be held for the North America and the European regions for now, the devs talk about plans to hold similar tournaments in the other regions as well. The blog reads, “The top performers in each region for NA and EU will be verified, and those players found eligible will be invited to participate in the Winter Royale Finals for their region. While this tournament will be restricted to NA and EU, we’re planning on holding other region-specific tournaments in additional regions in the near future.”
The Fortnite Winter Royale starts this weekend! $1,000,000 up for grabs in Fortnite's first open competition with cash prizes.
