There is no doubt that Fortnite is the the biggest runaway success of a game this year. And after such a stellar performance who can blame if a few end up copying the ideas. And that seems to be the case with a new French studio called oh BiBi, that comprises of former developers from Gameloft, that has introduced a new mobile game called FRAG, according to a report by Reuters.
FRAG is similar to Fortnite in the aspect that the game is free-to-play, which was previously thought only possible on consoles. Co-founder and chief executive Stanislas Dewavrin said,“At Oh BiBi we are on a mission to make mobile free-to-play fun to play by focusing on bringing epic multiplayer action games to mobile.”
Dewavrin and Oh BiBi co-founder Martial Valery have been part of major projects at Gameloft such as Minion Rush, a game that garnered a base of 860 million players, and Asphalt, which got around 650 million players.
The free-to-play structure has been a boon for Fortnite while fighting games available on consoles that typically charge around $60 to purchase have had it difficult. Oh BiBi, which was previously making driving and racing games, has now taken up the battle games genre recently.

This move of the developers to a game like FRAG has seen the developers incorporate social media elements like sharing scores on social media. Oh BiBi is set to debut a private beta test of the game FRAG in July with only solo gameplay to be available initially.
