The world’s most popular battle royal game Fortnite is coming to Nintendo Switch. The company announced during its E3 presentation on Tuesday that Fortnite will be coming to Nintendo Switch and will be a free download on the Nintendo eShop.
Like on any other platform, Fortnite seems to have been ported on the Nintendo Switch as well. So, it doesn’t look like the game will carry any specific content related to Nintendo. It will however, support cross platform gaming with all platforms, except for PS4. It was also noted that Fortnite may have a better communication on the Nintendo Switch compared to other games on the platform, as they require you to chat through a smartphone app.
Fortnite has easily become the most played and viewed online game of all time. With Nintendo Switch joining the bandwagon, the game is currently available on almost all platforms, including PC, PS4, Xbox One, and iOS. An Android app is also expected to come out soon. The game is currently on its fourth season and is constantly trying to make the battle royal platform more interesting. Recently, Fortnite also featured an Avengers: Infinity War crossover, where they brought in Thanos’ Infinity gauntlet as a playable weapon. More things are coming as the company recently revealed its plan to invest a $100 million in its battle royal game next year.

Although the game is free to play on all platforms, Nintendo plans on charging its users for online multiplayer, starting September. It’s not clear if Fortnite players will be exempted of those charges. Besides Fortnite, Nintendo also announced plenty of other exciting games, including the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Mario Party.
