Unless you just woke up from hyper-sleep, you’ve probably heard about Fortnite. Developed by Epic Games, it has become a worldwide phenomenon within a very short span of time. The primary reason for Fortnite’s incredible popularity is its free-to-play ‘Battle Royale’ mode, which allows up to 100 players to compete against each other to determine the last person standing. Now, a new report has reaffirmed that the epic game (pun intended) is here to stay.

According to market analyst firm Sensor Tower, the iOS version of Fortnite, which launched on the platform in March this year, has earned $300 million revenue in the past 200 days. Around 65 percent of Fortnite’s revenue on iOS comes from players based in the United States, VentureBeat reports. The Android version of the game, which has been available on the platform only since August, has racked up over $60 million.

Recently, Fortnite’s Season 6 went live for everyone. Among other features, the new update introduces a new trap called Chiller. Available in stacks of three, Chiller, as its name suggests, induces an effect (called ‘Icy Feet’ in the game) that reduces friction, causing the players to slide freely on the ground.

There are numerous other additions in Season 6 as well, with one of the biggest being pets. Yes, now you can play the game with a tiny companion who will go wherever you go on the map. A list of available pets hasn’t been mentioned yet, but the teaser video for the season showcases there will be a dog, a chameleon, and a dragon. There’s also not much we know about their abilities yet. It is highly likely that they will not be a part of the combat and will have to be unlocked using Battle Pass.
