Fortnite has been breaking records left right and center, so much so that we are not even surprised when a new one is broken. Fortnite has dominated every platform it has launched on and hence it was no surprise for us when it got downloaded over 2 million times within 24 hours of launching on Nintendo Switch.
Epic Games took the world by surprise by launching Fortnite on Nintendo Switch, after the Nintendo E3 press conference. Users didn’t waste any time in downloading the game on their devices.
According to a Polygon report, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said that over 2 million users had downloaded Fortnite in less than 24 hours. This racks up a huge number of total downloads for Fortnite on all platforms and the number is up to 125 million users right now with over 40 million logging in to play at least once a month.
Though some Nintendo Switch players were left disappointed not by the game but by the lack of the cross-play capability with PlayStations. Sony has always being the kid in the block who won’t play with everyone else and this is another classic example. As for the game, many have to say that this is the best mobile version of the game yet.

Commenting on this Fils-Aime said that this, “speaks to the power of the franchise, the engagement of our players and the resonance of being able to play it anytime, anywhere.” And we have to agree to this because Fortnite really has taken over the gaming world.
