Epic Games, the publisher for the popular Battle Royale game Fortnite seems to be working hard on adding new features, and modes to the game. The company revealed that it is set to roll out two new modes to Fortnite in the upcoming update.

According to GameSpot, the game is getting a new event known as “High Stakes”. As per a tweet by Epic Games, the event will provide a new outfit to players with four masks along with a new limited time mode, called “Getaway”. The report pointed out that the event will also include “a series of challenges” that can help players to get their hands on the new outfit.

It is likely that Epic Games has themed the latest event “around heists and gambling”. Epic Games also showed off this new mode during a live stream giving us a glimpse of the new event, new skins, and a new weapon, the “grappler gun”. Inspecting the stream, we found that the new mode will have four loaded safes in the supply drops that have been dropped across the map. Players in a group of four have to find the safes, extract the items inside, and then get to the extraction zone without dying. This new mode and the gun are likely to change how Fortnite is currently being played.

The company has also revealed that the recently announced Summer Skirmish matches will be the testing ground for the company to build the Fortnite World Cup that Epic Games is planning to hold next year.

The company is using the findings from its research, and the ongoing Summer Skirmish matches to build a new “robust competition system” that will allow gamers to play against each other. The company is expected to launch the first version of this new system in “later this fall”.
