Fortnite has become an unstoppable juggernaut of a game in less than a year since it has been launched. It is breaking records all over in every gaming platform there is. Recently Fortnite hit iOS and it seems to have taken over it in a matter of months.
Fortnite has now made $100 million on iOS in in-app purchases in just a matter of 90 days, according to mobile app data analysis company Sensor Tower. This makes Fortnite the second most successful launch of all time on iOS after Clash Royale. And according to experts this is an incredible achievement since all the purchasable items on Fortnite are cosmetic and have nothing to do with improving gameplay.
Looking cool in the game seems to be high in the order of importance because the costumes, outfits, accessories, and emotes that can be bought in the game have no effect in the gameplay. This is not the case with Clash Royale where people can actually buy items that improve chances and give an advantage to the people buying it. Though these are not costly at all, they tend to stack up the costs. Nonetheless Fortnite still outsold Clash Royale during April, May, and June, in terms of ingame items.
Fortnite has been beating its battle royale competitor PUBG for the last few months now and has amassed $233 million in the month of March from PS4 and Xbox One alone, and that makes it the most successful console game of all time.
