Gamescom has seen some big launches and this time Xbox users have something to cheer for. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is finally leaving Early Access on Xbox and is all set for a full launch of its 1.0 version on September 4. PUBG has been in Early Access on Xbox since December 2017 and is finally set to launch on the console.
And with the launch of the game, Xbox players will be greeted with a tonne of new stuff. The first and the most important one is the new Sanhok map that has been available on PC for a while will now be hitting the console. Sanhok is a tropical map that only measures 4×4 kms which is half the size of the regular maps. A smaller map means more action and Sanhok packs much more loot than either Erangle or Miramar.
And on Sanhok Xbox players will be able to experience Dynamic weather for the first time, which means varying fog and even rain on the map. Sanhok has its own set of unique guns and vehicles that are not available on any of the other maps.
A new mode is being introduced for Microsoft Xbox players called the War mode where players will drop armed on a small enclosed area on the map where they will fight with other teams to see who can score the most points by killing other players. There is no respawn limit in this mode and players get points for killing enemies and reviving teammates. This mode will be on demo at the Gamescom 2018 booth of PUBG.
All achievements will carry over for present owners of the game and a new ingame currency is being introduced that players can use to buy cosmetic items in the game. The Sanhok Event pass will also be introduced where players can level and get unique cosmetic items.
The full product release of PUBG for Xbox One will be available in both digital and retail disc versions, with the retail boxed version featuring an all-new colorway of the game’s iconic key art.
To celebrate the release of the 1.0 version of the game an exclusive collection of clothing and accessories inspired by Xbox brand colors is being introduced. This will be available to both present owners of the game as well as those buying the game can download the Xbox #1.0 Set starting September 4.
