It has been a while since the announcement of the Xbox Live Avatars was made by Microsoft at E3 last year. And now a video was released online which shows the new Microsoft Xbox Live avatars in action. A forum post on Resetera recently featured a YouTube video from a former Microsoft designer that showed off the new feature. Though the YouTube video is no longer available users were quick enough to make copies of it and Tom Warren from The Verge tweeted the video and wrote about it. The video shows how the Xbox Avatar Editor works and the scope of using it to edit the avatars of the users. The new feature will let users fully customize their avatars body type, clothes and other accessories. The Xbox Live Avatar Editor will work on both on Xbox One and Windows 10.
Microsoft is all set to release the Avatar Editor in April and the Xbox Live avatars will be integrated directly to the Xbox One Dashboard. Microsoft is also planning to launch a separate store for the purpose which will be open to the third-party developers.
The avatar are all set to be previewed by the Xbox Insider program this month and apart from thie the employees of Microsoft Xbox already have access to the feature and so do the Xbox Alpha tester group.
The new accessories include some colorful additions along with amputee representation and wheelchairs as well. This update is definitely aimed at diversity and Microsoft already delayed the launch from last Fall because it was apparently improving upon the whole system.
