Microsoft may be planning to launch new Xbox hardware at the upcoming annual Gamescom that will be held next month in Germany. The company teased the announcement in a blog post by adding that “all-new Xbox hardware and accessories” will be launched at the event. The company is expected to hold a live stream to share details about upcoming features, news, and new Xbox bundles. It is worth noting that the company initially mentioned that it will be launching “all-new box hardware and accessories” which made people think that the company may launch the next generation X-box out of the blue years ahead of the schedule.
It seems to have realized the implications of the teaser changing the wording to “new Xbox One bundles and accessories” without noting the change. Though, it would have been surprising and quite unlikely that the company would go ahead and launch the next generation console so ahead of the schedule. The company has not revealed any information about what the new hardware bundles could be including the new accessories. According to the report by The Verge, it is likely that Microsoft could be planning to launch the next version of its Xbox Elite controller. To recap, the company launched the first version of the controller during E3 2015.

The report points that it is likely that the new Elite controller could come with USB Type-C port, Bluetooth support for Windows 10, longer key travel for the paddles on the controller, three-level hair trigger locks, and a three-profile switch. The launch of Elite 2 would be in line with the new “accessories” tease by the company.
Though, similar to the report, we hope that Microsoft is not just referring to new console bundles, themed controllers, or any possible price reduction in the hardware of the console.
