Microsoft Xbox One users are in for some surprise with the new July update going live now. Microsoft wants to make things more convenient and a surprise for those impatient users that want their games to begin soon after they add it to their library.
The biggest addition to the July update of the Xbox One is the addition of the new FastStart feature that will be now allow users to play games sooner after they begin the download by getting the essential files first to quickly begin the game. This feature will require at least 20Mbps speed and will only be available on a select number of games on Xbox Game Pass at the moment.
In the official words of Microsoft, “Announced back at E3 2018, FastStart is a new innovation from our Xbox Platform team that allows you to jump into your games twice as fast and play after downloading just a fraction of it. Simply find the FastStart-enabled title you want to play in our catalog, hit ‘Download’ and your console will take care of the rest.”
We still don’t have an official list of the games that will have this support yet, but Microsoft has said that more games will be getting this feature as they get updated.
