Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) hosted its flagship gaming event, GameOn 2018, at HITEX Convention Centre, Hyderabad recently. The event was being held on the sidelines of Comic Con, from October 13 to October 14. The event was inaugurated by Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Telangana and Andrej Zdravkovic, Corporate Vice President, Software Development & Management at AMD. The two-day LAN party saw about 3000 gamers register to compete in various tournaments including Counter Strike Global Offensive, DOTA 2, PlayerUnknown s Battlegrounds, Fortnite and many console games. The CSGO tournament was won by OpTic India Gaming and the DOTA2 championship was bagged by Playmax Interactive team – Wipeout. Over 140 clans across India had registered for these tournaments. AMD also conducted an all India, MOD (Make your Own Device) challenge and Hyderabad based, Sohail won an HTC Vive for building the best gaming rig. Inspired by Iron Man, the powerful rig was built using Ryzen 7 2700X and Radeon RX 580.
A lucky visitor also walked away with an extremely powerful custom rig built by AMD engineers using AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 4.1GHz overclocked CPU and Radeon RX Vega 56 with custom liquid cooling.

AMD also hosted a job centre where visitors interacted with engineers and HR team members to understand what it means to work at AMD. Over 200 people applied for roles in the organization by uploading their resume using a QR code. Shortlisted candidates will get invited for an interview in the coming days and they stand a chance to be part of the AMD team.
