Pokémon GO is about to get a new pair of legendary bird Pokémons introduced in the game. The popular legendary bird Pokémon Lugia has now been retired after it’s reintroduction a few weeks back. And Pokémon GO players can now catch the new pair of legendary Dragon and Psychic type Pokémon Latias and Latios instead.
Now, players won’t be able to catch both the legendary Pokémon at the same time and they will be rotated according to regions. Latias will appear in Raid Battles across Europe and Asia, while Latios will appear in North America, South America, and Africa. And on May 8, the Eon Pokémon will switch locations and will be available until June 5.
The extremely popular Dark and Rock type Pokémon Tyranitar will be very useful when it comes to taking down these two powerful legendaries. Tyranitar and Mawile will also be appearing in raid battles to aid the capture of Latios and Latias. The legendaries will be available to capture for the players until June 5.
Here’s how the post from the developers say about Latias and Latios.
“Drawn to compassionate spirits, the Eon Pokémon Latias and Latios are known for being highly intelligent, and are able to communicate telepathically with humans. They are also stealthy and extremely fast in flight—with Latias able to use its down to refract light to make itself invisible and Latios able to overtake jet planes. Make sure you encounter these special and elusive Pokémon while they roam during this limited time!”
Though it is a surprise that Latios and Latias have been introduced in the game now, people have expected them ever since dataminers had dug out the details back in October of last year.
