PUBG Mobile recently got a big update to version 0.8.0, which brought the highly-anticipated Sanhok map and other changes to the game. Game developer Tencent Games is now set to roll out another update – version 0.8.5 – over the coming week. While the user-facing changes will be few, most of the changes are aimed at improving the gameplay and experience at the back-end. Most of the changes are in the form of new accessories and clothing items in the game.

Developer Tencent Games has signed up with Japanese clothing brand BAPE to promote its products through PUBG Mobile. As a result you will be able to acquire the BAPE frying pan and shark hoodie, according to a report by Gadgets 360. There will be other BAPE-branded accessories as well, but it isn’t clear if this will be available as part of the ordinary crates or will need to be purchased through in-app purchases. While many of the clothing and accessories in the game are premium and need to be purchased, users can play and gain common items over time, without spending any real money.

The frying pan is one of the most unique items in the game, and is a relatively rare find during PUBG Mobile games. The item is said to be bullet-proof and can protect the player from shots that directly strike the frying plan. Additionally, it can be used as a melee weapon that deals more damage per hit than any of the other melee weapons in the game. The BAPE frying pan will presumably have some kind of branding on it, differentiating it from the regular frying pan.

The PUBG Mobile 0.8.5 update doesn’t have a firm timeline yet, but is expected to roll out soon. Users will have to update to the latest version upon opening the app when it is available. There are no major changes expected with this update, but Tencent Games could still surprise us when it actually rolls out.
