Sony PlayStation 4 players are getting ready to experience PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for the first time on December 7. The pre-load of the game is already out, and so are the notes about the release. PUBG for PS4 has already had an update since the launch of the pre-load and the present version is 1.02. The new snow map that was supposed to be introduced to the game, according to leaks was supposed to be released alongside the PS4 version of the game at The Game Awards.
But the release of the details about the PS4 version of the game showed that the maps is not going to be added to the main release of the game initially. It was speculated that it would be introduced at a later date, because the Event Pass for Vikendi was present on the listing of the different bundles that were mentioned in the blog. And now it seems that the game will be coming with the Vikendi map on it Public Test Server upon release on PS4 because the new update patch mentions that the Vikendi map has been added to the game.
The Vikendi map is set to be a snow based map that was datamined by a Reddit user who posted his recreations on YouTube and goes by the name of Allthenewsisgoodnews. Just to be clear it is only a recreation we have seen of the map which means we don’t know the finer details about it which include foliage or the texture details.
Besides the mention of the new map, the patches also talk about the enhanced graphic and fps options. PUBG will have a Public Test Server on PS4 which is apart from its main game. The PTS is present on the PC and Xbox One as well. The update that we will see is for the PTS. The main PUBG PS4 game will come with the maps Erangel, Miramar and Sanhok for now. According to Gadgets360 the initial download size of PUBG PS4 is 33.51GB, and the PUBG PTS is 37.35GB.
