It’s that time of the week again when we get restless to know what event mode Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds has in store for us. Last week it was a rerun of the Desert Knights mode that caused servers quite some grief in the previous week. Desert Knights involved level 3 equipment along with care package guns that made it one of the most popular Event modes yet.
And this week PUBG, seems to have taken things low key with a mode that will emphasize stealth. Named, ‘Ghillie Crossing’, the new mode will feature crossbows as the primary ranged weapon, along with all the melee weapons. This crossbow and melee weapons only mode will take place on Erangel with four man teams and a total of 100 players per match.
The biggest surprise will be ghillie suits that will spawn like normal world loot in random locations alongside the normal world loot. The event is set to begin at 7.30 AM IST on May 25 and will continue till 7.30 AM IST on May 28.
Other event rules as mentioned on the blog on Steam by the developers say that the team has opted to turn off Red Zone and care packages. The blur zone will do increasingly exponential damage as the endgame approaches. There will be no vehicle spawns will is probably done in the spirit of stealth that this mode denotes. And the first safe zone will always form around the center of the map.
The weather will be locked at sunny and no scopes larger than than 2x, 3x and 4x will spawn. All other world spawn items—including bolts, grenades, consumables, and attachments like crossbow quivers and scopes—spawn at a normal rate.
