Alto’s Odyssey, the much-anticipated sequel of Alto’s Adventure is finally available for Android users. Interested users can head to its Google Play Store listing to download and try out the game. Noodlecake Studios, the team behind the game had already launched the iOS version earlier this year in February. The interesting part about this new version is that it is free of cost on Android along with additional options for in-app purchases instead of the Rs 399 price put on its iOS counterpart. To recap the history of the game, as reported by The Verge, Alto’s Adventure was a critically acclaimed game that crossed the 36 million download marker on Android.
According to Alto’s Odyssey listing page, the gaming studio claims that this game is “easy to learn”, and “difficult to master”. Users will be required to “chain together combos” to complete about 180 goals present in the game. The game is primarily about users joining Alto on a sand-boarding adventure where they “explore biomes. From the dunes to the canyons, to the temples”. The game is similar to its predecessor in most aspects including the ability to unlock “six unique characters” with different abilities and attributes to the general experience of the gameplay.

Zen Mode makes a return where users can enjoy the soundtrack of the game without any distracting elements such as coins, scores, or power-ups. However, not everything is old and the game developers have added some new features to the game. The first is photo mode where users can pause the game and then take screenshots of their journey through the desert. As part of the photo mode, users can “pinch, swipe, pan and zoom” to help users frame the shot.
The second new thing is the ability to make use of the hot-air balloons present during the gameplay to jump high into the sky or the additional “dynamic weather effects”, and lightning effects. This comes right after Asphalt 9 rolled out for Android and iOS users across the globe.
