This was only hinted at by Sato who did not confirm if there is any such game in the works or planned for the future. But he did confirm that a project code-named Shin Yakuza is currently being developed and will include new locations to visit. And the game will be set after the events of Yakuza 6, giving much moved previous characters a chance to make an appearance.
Details about the Shin Yakuza project is scanty, though it is common knowledge that the next protagonist s name will be Ichiban Kasuga. Ichiban Kasuga, is reportedly a different character from Kazuma Kiryu who is the protagonist in the previous game. Kazuma Kiryu is popular with money and support of friends, while Ichiban Kasuga comes from the low ranks in the Yakuza and has to make his way through.
Tekken fans who are fans of the Yakuza series as well will be excited to know that Sato has mentioned that Kazuma Kiryu could be in Tekken 7 if Producer Katsushiro Harada likes the idea and the team would think about it.
