College students always have many things going on for them to keep them distracted from the class. So, it was no surprise to Mr Hillman, a teacher in a college, when he found that students in his class were busy playing Fortnite on their phones. And like every other teacher, he was frustrated how often this was happening. But what he did next would hardly qualify as regular. Instead of telling off the students who were playing in class, he decided to do something that would definitely grab the attention of his students. Mr Hillman decided to write to Epic Games and have it send the message to his students. And with such intentions, he posted on the game s subReddit asking Epic Games if this could be done. Though he deleted the post after comments where people thought that he was incapable of controlling his class and that students may identify his Reddit handle. But here s what the post read.
First, I love your game. My friends from college and I play pretty much every night. One problem, since mobile came out my students won t stop playing in class. Idk if it s possible, but I told them I d write you and they didn t believe me. Could you add this to the loading screen for a couple days to mess with them?
Mr. Hillman says stop playing in class
Understand if you can t. But thanks for your time . Also, Gus for life.. That is all. Thanks
Though there was no immediate response from Epic Games, after a week or so, people thought it was just not going to happen. But then it turned out Epic Games had taken notice and incorporated the message in the game. And anyone playing a game now would be greeted by the message on their loading screen, like in the image below.
The message is now visible to everyone though no one knows when it will be removed. But one must admit that it is a unique effort from Epic Games.
