February 2019 is a very busy month for gamers. A number of popular games are expected to release, and one of them is Tom Clancy s The Division 2. The sequel to the 2016 game Tom Clancy s The Division, Division 2 is an upcoming online action role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, that has managed to create major hype around it.
I recently got an opportunity to try the game first hand, and I’m excited about it. It was a 15-minute demo where four of us could team up and get into the roles of either a Sharpshooter, Demolitionist or a Survivalist.
As trailers have explained, the game is set in an apocalyptic Washington DC where everyone’s fighting over resources. We were invading the base of operations of another surviving group. And this required us to fight enemies that appeared in waves in successive locations.
As the Sharpshooter, players had access to a heavy bolt action sniper rifle that basically kills with a single shot, and this combined with another rifle and an SMG made up the attacking arsenal. While Demolitionist was has access to various explosive charges as well as weapons. The Survivalist can deploy traps and even has an array of weapons to choose from.
The combat was very immersive and the enemies had excellent coding to the boot. The enemies will try and surround you and beat you with numbers from flanks. The shooting is accurate and controlling guns seem very real.
The environment and visuals are excellent and there didn t seem any overlap in textures. Enemies were well defined and are distinguishable in front of most surfaces. The action is reminiscent of The Division and players will definitely feel like its an upgrade over the previous game.
