Xiaomi smartphones are known to have active development scene, with a lot of custom ROMs boased on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) available on XDA Developers. You have the likes of LineageOS, CarbonROM, Resurrection Remix and more to choose from. Some MIUI users may also be aware of Xiaomi EU, which is an unofficial project that releases several MIUI builds for Xiaomi devices. Today, Xiaomi EU has released MIUI 10 based ROM for a bunch of Xiaomi smartphones.
Based on MIUI China Developer ROM, the Xiaomi EU ROM includes all features from stock MIUI, while also offering other tweaks to unlock some hidden features. The ROM also includes Google Play apps and services, along with languages more than Mandarin and English.
Xiaomi EU’s MIUI 10 ROM is compatible with the Mi 5, Mi 6, Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE smartphones. The ROM is also available for Mi MIX, Mi MIX 2, Mi MIX 2S, Mi Note 2, Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones. How to install Xiaomi EU MIUI 10 ROM
To begin with, you’ll need to unlock the bootloader of your smartphone, and you can do that by heading to en.miui.com/unlock/
Next, you’ll have to install TWRP custom recovery on your smartphone, which you can download from here – twrp.me/Devices/
Next, you will need adb and fastboot tools to flash the TWRP recovery, and you can follow the instructions mentioned here – www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Once adb and fastboot setup is complete, visit this page to find instructions to flash TWRP on your smartphone www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
Next, head over to xiaomi.eu/community/threads/8-6-14-16-18-20.44522/ and download the ROM for your smartphone, and save the ZIP file in the root directory of the internal storage.
Lastly, open the Updater app, tap on three-dots on the top right, and reboot to recovery. Tap on Wipe and Swipe to factory reset. Select the downloaded ROM and tap on install. Once the installation is complete, your device will reboot with the Xiaomi EU MIUI 10 ROM.
