How to flash MIUI 9.5 ROM using the Updater app
To begin with, head over to Mi Community thread here – c.mi.com/thread-860054-1-0.html, and scroll down to find the ROM for your device.
For instance, if you own a Redmi 5A, you will see two links as seen in the image above. Click on the first link that says Recovery ROM.
Once downloaded, copy the .zip file on the internal storage (main directory, and not in any folder).
Now, head over to Tools folder on your Xiaomi device, and open the Updater app. Tap on the three dots on the top right corner and select Update package.
It will open the file manager, just scroll down to select the .zip file that you earlier transferred to the root of internal storage, and tap on OK.
The updater app will check for errors and setup the installation. Once complete, tap on Reboot and Update”. After the installation is complete, your device will reboot with the updated MIUI 9.5 ROM. (Do note, your smartphone may reboot a couple of times in the process during the installation)
