10.or, the smartphone brand from Amazon India, is set to launch the second generation of its budget smartphones in the country. As one would expect, the smartphone will be exclusive to Amazon India, and the company has been teasing the device with the tagline ‘The next is here’. The 10.or D2 will embrace a modern design that has thinner bezels around the display, and supports taller 18:9 aspect ratio. A video accompanying the teaser has already confirmed the smartphone will feature a 5.45-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, which will be a huge departure from 16:9 aspect ratio on last year’s model. The 10.or D was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 4,999, and its successor is expected to launch in the same price segment. The smartphone will most likely be announced as competitor to Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A, which according to IDC, is the best-selling smartphone in the country with a market share of over nine percent.
10.or D2 specifications and features
10.or is launching its budget device on the same day as Samsung and Xiaomi, which are expected to introduce their flagship Galaxy Note 9 and POCO F1 smartphones respectively. However, the budget pricing of the device makes it more relevant for the Indian market.
In terms of specifications, the 10.or D2 will feature a 5.45-inch display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is expected to have dimensions similar to its predecessor, which had a 5.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, and 16:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset but the model is not yet known. It could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset found under the hood of Redmi 5A.

In the teaser, 10.or has confirmed that the smartphone will pack a Sony sensor, and the rear camera might carry 13-megapixel resolution. The front camera might be a 5-megapixel shooter. It should run Android 8.1 Oreo with near stock user experience like its predecessor.
