Amazon India’s in-house smartphone brand 10.or (pronounced Tenor) has launched its latest smartphone in India, the ultra-affordable 10.or D2. Priced from Rs 6,999, the 10.or D2 will be available to buy exclusively on Amazon India from August 27 for Amazon Prime members, and August 28 for all buyers. The phone will be available in two color options – black and gold.
The 10.or D2 is the successor to last year’s 10.or D, which was the most affordable of the three devices launched under the 10.or brand name in India. The new phone is priced at Rs 6,999 for the 2GB RAM/16GB storage option, and Rs 7,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage option. Registrations for notifications and information on the 10.or D2 starts today.
The 10.or D2 has been positioned as an entry-level smartphone meant to take on the Xiaomi Redmi 5A, and other starter Android smartphones in India. Further, Amazon India has also developed the device with Indian users in mind, with features and specifications designed for Indian usage patterns. Amazon says that it has compiled data based on user feedback it receives on its e-commerce platform, and designed the phone with features accordingly.
10.or D2 specifications, features
The 10.or D2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-th- box. The UI is a near-stock Android interface, but with some additions in the form of Amazon apps such as Alexa, Kindle, Amazon Prime Music, Amazon Prime Video, and Amazon Shopping. Other apps also exist to control the radio and sound recorder, both useful features designed for the target audience.

As mentioned, you get either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of storage. Storage is expandable through a dedicated slot, and the phone also has specific slots for two SIM cards. You get 4G connectivity on both SIM slots, although only one 4G connection can be active at any time. Interestingly, the phone has two microphones with noise cancellation built-in to improve audio on calls.
The phone features a 3,200mAh battery, and comes with a 5W charger in the box. At the back is a 13-megapixel camera, and the front has a 5-megapixel camera. The phone does not have a fingerprint sensor or face unlock. A key feature of the phone is the screen, with the 10.or D2 sporting a 5.45-inch HD+ resolution 18:9 aspect ratio LTPS screen.
