10 smartphones launched in India in April priced below Rs 10,000

April has been a month of mega smartphone launches. From the Asus Zenfone 2, Xiaomi Mi 4i to the HTC One M9+ – there were some biggies. However, for all the super-budgeted folks out there, there was no shortage of new affordable smartphones released by companies either. The 4G variant was launched just a few days ago and is available on Flipkart for Rs 7,999. As far as the specifications are concerned, theMoto E 4G (2015) sports a 4.5-inch qHD (960 540 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, the smartphone offers 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel primary camera, VGA secondary camera, 2,390mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box.

2. Lenovo A7000

The successor of the A6000 was launched at the beginning of the month, and is being sold on Flipkart via flash sale ever since. The A7000 is priced at Rs 8,999 and as far as the specifications are concerned, the A7000 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood is a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6752m octa-core processor paired with Mali-T760MP2 GPU and 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, it offers 8GB internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

In the photography department, there is an 8-megapixel autofocus snapper at the back with LED flash, supplemented with a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. The smartphone also includes a 2,900mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 16 hours of talktime and up to 264 hours on standby mode.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under Vibe UI.

3. Lenovo A6000 Plus

The Lenovo A6000 Plus was launched in mid-April with a price tag of Rs 7,499. The A6000 plus will go on sale exclusively via Flipkart on April 28, and registrations for the sale are underway. The A6000 Plus is a slight upgrade over the A6000 and the specifications include a 5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) display, and a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core 64-bit processor under the hood paired with 2GB RAM. Along with the 16GB internal memory, there is also a microSD card slot to expand the memory.

The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel selfie camera up front, Dolby Digital Plus dual speakers, and a 2,300mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough for up to 13 hours of talktime on 3G and up to 11 days on standby mode.

Connectivity options include, dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat wrapped under Vibe 2.0 UI. As for color options, the smartphone will be available in black, white, yellow and red.

4. Micromax Canvas Spark

This smartphone is pegged to be the Redmi 2 competitor and is priced at a lucrative Rs 4,999. Registrations for the first flash sale on April 29 have kicked off, and as far as the specifications are concerned, the Canvas Spark sports a 4.7-inch qHD (960 540 pixels) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6582 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone also features 8GB internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel selfie camera, and a 2,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include, dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

5. Gionee Pioneer P4S

This affordable smartphone costs Rs 7,799 and was launched just a few days ago. As far as specifications are concerned, the Pioneer P4Scomes with a 4.5-inch display and is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz processor paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, it offers 8GB onboard memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features a 5-megapixel primary sensor, 2-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 1,800mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android KitKat.

6. Oppo Joy Plus

The Oppo Joy Plus was launched with a price tag of Rs 6,990. The Oppo Joy Plus comes with a 4-inch display set at 480p and offers a pixel density of 234ppi, and is powered by a MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with a 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, there is 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone also features a 3-megapixel primary camera, VGA secondary sensor, and boasts several post processing photography tools like Beautify Mode 3.0 and Double exposure. It also includes a 1,700mAh battery, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.0 KitKat wrapped under the company s Color OS 2.0 UI.

7. Intex Cloud M6

Intex launched its latest dual-SIM budget smartphone called the Cloud M6 for Rs 4,999 this month. As far as specifications go, the Intex Cloud M6 flaunts a 5-inch FWVGA (854 480 pixels) display and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor paired with a 1.35GB of RAM. It also includes 8GB of onboard memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

On the camera front, the smartphone is equipped with an 8-megapixel auto-focus primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The handset also features a 2,000mAh battery, connectivity options like dual-SIM card slot, 3G support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android KitKat 4.4.

8. Lava Iris Alfa L

This smartphone was launched just today for Rs 8,000. The Lava Iris alfa L comes with a 5.5-inch display set at qHD (960 540 pixels) resolution, and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MTK6582M quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Storage options include 8GB onboard storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

On the photography front the smartphone features an 8-megapixel primary camera with PureCel sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. It also features a 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front, runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 out-of-the-box.

9. Spice Stellar 526n

The octa-core version of the Stellar 526 was launched early this month for Rs 7,999. As the name suggests, the Spice Stellar 526n Octa is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor paired Mali GPU and 1GB of RAM. It flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display. It comes with 8GB of on-board storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB with the microSD card.

The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel primary snapper, 3.2-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2,500mAh battery, which company says will offer 280 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 3G support, GPS, microUSB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.

10. InFocus M330

It’s been just two months since InFocus has entered India, and has two smartphones in the market. The Infocus M330 was launched early in April for Rs 9,99,9 and is being sold exclusively on Snapdeal. As far as specifications are concerned, the InFocus M330 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla 2 protection. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.

On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel primary snapper and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor. The phone comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card, and a 3,100mAh battery.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
