Last week, the company had put up 10,000 units on sale with more than three lakh users registered for the sale. As you would expect, the sale was over in a matter of three seconds. As mentioned above, the company has announced that 15,000 handsets will be up for grabs later today, but it hasn t revealed how many users have registered for the sale. Yu had revealed last week that those who missed out on buying the handset would be automatically registered for today s sale, hence it is safe to assume that there will again be a big difference in the number of available units and the number of registered users. Like last week, the Yureka will go on sale at 2:00PM today on Amazon India. Those interested in buying the device are advised to be online before the scheduled hour. If they miss out on buying the phone, there is still a small chance of getting one s hands on the device by being on the wailist.
To recap, the Yu Yureka has been launched in India for Rs 8,999. As for specifications, it flaunts a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 64-bit capability and paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 16GB internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card.
Furthermore, the smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,500mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on CyanogenMod OS 11 based on Android KitKat.
