2018 S-Class receives infotainment system and instrument cluster which have a same size of 12.3 inches. The system provides NFC connectivity allowing the smartphone to turn into a digital key and controller for parking. The touch sensitive steering wheel and Linguatronic voice command serve as a control for entire infotainment unit. The S-Class also offers “Business Telephony in the Rear” which with the help of Bluetooth allows the addition of a second phone for transferring calls between the front and rear passengers. The audio unit is a Burmester High-End 3D unit which comes with 1520 watts of sound output. S-Class also provides its owners with concierge services which deliver convenience like making restaurant reservations and tips about tourist routes.
Coming to the business end of the car, the 2018 S-Class gets 64-colour LED mood lighting. 2018 Mercedes S-Class has all the creature comforts and they take care of the customer requirement by themselves. The Energizing comfort control takes care of several comfort aspects of the car like setting climate control with fragrance, seats with ventilator, heater or massage feature which is backed up by suitable soothing music for a duration of ten minutes. The six selectable programs include Freshness, Warmth, Vitality, Joy, Comfort and Training. These features will be available in all the seats. S-Class had autonomous driving features earlier as well but the latest model will take it to the next level with its driving assistance systems which include Active Braking Assist, Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Traffic Sign Assist and Pre-Safe.
Engine and Specifications
S-Class has a wide range of engines on offer which includes a two inline 6 cylinder engines powered by petrol as well as diesel. While there is a beast of a motor also on offer which powered by the AMG division is a 4.0 litre V8 Biturbo which churns out 612 bhp with 900 Nm of torque.
