Lenovo today announced it has sold 3 lakh units of its affordable LTE-capable A6000 smartphone in India since its launch two months ago. The Lenovo A6000 was launched in January on Flipkart, and the company managed to sell 180,000 units through flash sales, while the remaining 120,000 units were sold without any pre-registration. The news comes a day ahead of the launch of its successor, the A7000. “As of today, the Lenovo A6000 has sold a total of 300,000 units exclusively through Flipkart. The LTE capable A6000 is priced at Rs 6,999. It features a 5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core (64-bit), 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage and microSD card support.
The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,300mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for 13 hours of talktime and up to 11.5 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, LTE and Wi-Fi. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat wrapped under Vibe UI 2.0.
The company is now set to announce its successor A7000 tomorrow. We came across the smartphone’s benchmarks which positions it way ahead of its competition. To recap, Lenovo hails the A7000 as a smartphone built for entertainment on a budget. It flaunts a bigger 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6752m octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
The handset also features 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 2,900mAh battery. Connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box.
