MIUI 6 is lighter and faster than before, which puts less load on the smartphone s battery. It also has extended power saver modes, which will help users in increasing the standby time of the device directly translating into saving battery power. It further helps you to set permissions for the type of application you want to install and the basic virus scan is pretty effective as well.
Revamped Home Screen
The latest version of MIUI renders a flatter form factor to the entire UI. Icons and other menu bars don’t look and feel chunky like before. The lockscreen now shows the number of unattended notifications and swipe in different directions can open up new menus. Native Mi apps like Calculator, Weather, Compass and Security have been updated with a refreshed UI as well.
Mi Cloud Improvised
Mi Cloud is similar to Google drive but it is tailor made for Xiaomi phones which makes it easier to upload photos, videos and other stuffs on the cloud and share it with others. The new application allows a greater control on who can view your contents. Mi Cloud comes with 10GB of storage.
Superscript for App Icons
Another interesting feature which is reminiscent of iOS is the superscript for the application icons. Users can set which apps they want to see the superscript on so that the next time the application has some notifications it gets displayed right on the icon.
UI has been changed across homescreens, dialpad, email and browser. The call manager lets you block calls and define rules for doing so in several ways. The redesigned E-Mail client lets users stack up emails with the same subject line or the sender into a folder. It also lets you view the attachments separately in another Window.
