Amid fears of teens fleeing Facebook and heading towards other social networks like Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram, Facebook continued on its impressive growth. Today the company announced its fourth quarter earnings for the year 2013 and what stands out is that Facebook now has more than 1.22 billion monthly active users, of which 94 million are in India, while a staggering 945 monthly active users of them come from mobile phones. Facebook saw a 45.32 percent growth in the number of monthly active users, which has seen a steady growth to reach the 1.22 billion mark. Taking into consideration the daily active users, the social network clocked more than 757 million users daily on the web and 556 million users daily on the mobile platform.
It is the mobile platform though, which saw the biggest growth for the social network. Facebook now has more than 945 million monthly active users on the mobile platform, which is a 118 percent rise from the fourth quarter of 2011.
As far as the revenues for the quarter are concerned, Facebook posted $2.59 billion in revenue with 53 percent of the money coming from mobile advertising. This is a 28 percent quarter-on-quarter increase from last year.
