An Uber driver from Lakewood, Texas, names James, was given an unusual tip for his trip by a regular rider, a $5 Super Special Ultimate Bingo Scratch ticket. He scratched that ticket to win a $30 reward, and used that to buy six more tickets which begun a loop where he won more money and bought more tickets. “I kept winning these smaller amounts and just kept rolling it over and over into more tickets,” said James according to 9news. “I thought to myself, ‘I’m never going to hit the end of these tickets’. And after six weeks of repeating the same process of scratching tickets and buying more with the money won, he finally hit the lucky number on April 25, when he won the Top Prize-winning Bingo ticket. He arrived in Denver claims office along with his parents to claim his prize money of $140,000 (Rs 93,38,700 approx). He said that he felt that fate had played a very significant part in all of this.
“I very rarely get the same passenger multiple times, but I’d picked up this guy a few times,” he said. “I haven’t been able to find him yet and tell him about this, but I hope I do.”
James wants to give a big chunk of the money to his parents who have been a bug financial support for him many times over the past years. He also plans to soup-up the car he uses for Uber services to make sure that he can continue to use it over the years to come.
