At Next@Acer press event in New York City, Acer announced a wide-range of products that it has plans to roll out in 2018. While the focus was more on laptops, Acer also dedicated a lot of time to its desktop PCs, especially the ones in its gaming lineup. Along with a new range of Predator laptops, the company also announced its next generation of gaming desktops including, the Orion 5000, Orion 3000 and the new Nitro 50.

Besides these, the company also hinted at the Predator X, which is said to be a gaming desktop that utilizes two Xeon processors, thanks to its two-socket workstation design. However, that’s all information revealed at present.

Predator Orion 5000 and Orion 3000 specifications and features

The Orion 5000 gaming desktop comes in two variants called the PO5-610 and PO5-600, within which there are multiple configurations available. The highest variant comes with the 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor coupled alongside two GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPUs. There’s support for 64GB DDR4 memory and a 3TB hard drive, as well as 512 SSDs. Connectivity options include, Wi-Fi AC, Bluetooth 4.2, and Killer LAN high-speed Ethernet. Audio falls back on the Creative Sound Blaster X 720 built-in unit.

The Orion 3000 is more of a budget-friendly option in the desktop series. It comes with the same Intel Core i7 processor and GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, but the additional GPU options are limited to Nvidia’s GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1050 variants. Besides this pretty much all specifications, including both RAM and storage are similar to the Orion 5000.

Predator Nitro 50 specifications and features

The Nitro 50 falls even lower in the gaming desktop segment. It comes with three processor options, starting with the Intel Core i3 and Core i5, going all the way up to the Core i7. What’s more interesting about the desktop is that Acer has provided plenty of options for the bundled GPU. The list includes AMD’s Radeon RX 580X and Radeon RX 580, while in Nvidia, you get GTX 1070, 1060, 1050 Ti and 1050 graphics cards.

The Nitro 50 sports a fancy armored styled housing and comes with Realtek Dragon LAN that helps optimize network speeds to deliver a better gaming performance. Besides this, the RAM and storage configurations are pretty much the same compared to the Orion series desktops.
