The hard drives come with a waterproof and dustproof rating that is claimed to be exceeding IP68 standards, as well as military-grade shockproofing. Adata claims that the HD710 series can be submerged in up to 2m of water for up to 60 minutes, and will survive falls from up to 1.5m heights. This is thanks to a triple-layer construction, which protects the actual hard drive from the elements and rough use. These hard drives would be typically well-suited for outdoor use; it would work well for anyone that works in the field, such as photographers or engineers that work in typically rough conditions. The strong resistance to the elements means that users can rest easy knowing that the data stored on the drives is safe. Additionally, the drives have special compatibility for Apple devices, thanks to having the Apple HFS+ system built-in. The hard drive itself isn’t an SSD solution, instead using a tradition hard drive inside.
