Adobe has just issued a new update for Lightroom CC users on Android with a number of improvements and new features. According to the changelog of the latest update, Adobe has finally introduced support for HEIC (High-Efficiency Video Coding) in the High-Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) on Android. This format gained mainstream acceptance after Apple introduced it in iOS 11 last year. Earlier the support was only limited to iOS and users could not use the HEIF images on Android that they uploaded on the cloud from iOS.

The company has also added a quick toggle to resume or pause synchronization with the Adobe cloud in the “Cloud status” tab. The new update has also improved the “Optics” tab in the app allowing users to fix chromatic aberrations in the images. The tab now also gives users the option to select from 1,200 lens profiles to fix any distortion in the images. The changelog also pointed out that Adobe has finally removed the maximum limit of exporting 15 images at any given time. The update brings the version number of the app to 3.6 while adding a new guided tutorial on how to apply Watermark to the images.

Moving forward, Adobe has also added a new technology preview in the app known as “Best Photos”. Adobe Lightroom uses Adobe Sensei as part of this preview to automatically select the photos that have “the highest potential, quickly and easily.” For the people who are not aware of what Technology Previews are, these features are usually something that Adobe has been working on behind the scenes but the company wants to test them more before rolling them out for everyone.

The company has been working on improving the features of the app in recent months. This is the second major update in last three months to bring it on par with its desktop counterpart.
