Xiaomi may deny being a copycat , but the evidence just keeps piling up to prove otherwise. After using Apple s Aperture icon on the Xiaomi Mi 3 feature page, it now seems to have resorted to using copyrighted images. It was yet again spotted by John Gruber. Gruber again points to the camera section on the Xiaomi Mi 3 feature page, wherein the company has uploaded a few photos as samples for its camera s abilities. These photos however have not been clicked using the Mi 3 s camera, but instead have been taken off various sources. Also Read - Redmi Note 11T 5G vs Realme 8s 5G: Which one is a better option?

For example, the photo of the young girl seen on the gallery app is actually a photograph posted on Flickr by Javi Inchusta Gonzalez, and clicked using a Nikon D700 SLR. What s more, the photo s licensing is set to Copyright, All Rights Reserved. After publishing it on his blog, multiple users have shared the original sources of the images being used. The photo of the water droplet for example, has been taken from 500px.com, while the photo of the sunflower has been taken from National Geographic.

Xiaomi is said to be working really hard to shrug off its copycat image, but seems like its website designers haven t got the memo. In a recent interview, Xiaomi s Hugo Barra said how he is already sick and tired of the company being called Apple copycat. He sees Mi as an incredibly innovative company that never stops trying to improve and refine its designs, and the allegations of it copying Apple are sweeping sensationalist statements because they have nothing better to talk about.
