Apple s latest iPhones have become the butt of jokes, and rival companies are actively taking part in making their own brand of humor known. Xiaomi is the latest Chinese company to join in on the fun by teasing people with new bundles of its own products named after the new iPhone versions. These product bundles are the same price as the iPhones versions they are named after, which basically shows what Xiaomi products people can buy for the price of the new iPhones. Xiaomi is known as the Apple of China , and the new product bundles they have come up with are called XR suite, XS suite, and XS Max set. These are priced at RMB 6,499, RMB 8,699, and RMB 9,599 respectively, which are the starting prices of the new iPhones in China. Apple released the Chinese prices of its iPhones yesterday. The XR suite, which imitated the base iPhone XR model, costs a whopping RMB 6,499 and is equivalent to $947 in China. And Xiaomi s listing shows that for this pricing people will get the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE (6+128GB) in Grey color, Mi Band 3, Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch 4+256G in Silver color, and the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini in Black color.
The pricing of the XS bundle is the same as the iPhone XS, priced at RMB 8,699 and is equivalent to $1,268 in China. In this bundle users will be able to buy the flagship Mi MIX 2S (8GB+256GB) smartphone in black color, Mi Band 3, Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch in Silver color, and the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini in black color.
Lastly, the iPhone XS Max or the iPhone XS Max set is priced at RMB 9,599 or equivalent of $1,398 in China. In this bundle, one will get a Mi 8 (6GB+128GB), Mi Notebook Pro, Mi Bluetooth Collar Headset and Mi Band 3.
This is clearly a marketing stunt from Xiaomi, and hence there’s no promotion. These bundles are also only available in China. But it would be interesting to see if Xiaomi runs similar campaigns in the other countries like India and Spain.
