Back in February, Xiaomi launched the 64GB variant of the Mi 4 in India with a price tag of Rs 23,999, but had recently cut it down to Rs 21,999. Today however the company announces a further Rs 2,000 price cut, effectively bringing the price tag down to Rs 19,999. There is no change in the 16GB variant, which is priced at Rs 17,999. Xiaomi says that “lower costs have enabled us to reduce the price of Mi 4 64GB, and this translates into savings that our Mi fans can enjoy.”
Furthermore, Xiaomi has also announced exchange offers wherein you can buy the 16GB and 64GB Mi 4 variants for as low as Rs 12,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively. When buying, you can check if your old phone is eligible for the exchange offer via a drop down menu or by entering your phone’s IMEI number. Brands eligible for the exchange scheme include Alcatel, Apple, Asus, BlackBerry, HTC, HP, Huawei, Karbonn, Lava, Lenovo, LG, Xiaomi, Micromax, Motorola, Nokia, Oppo, Samsung, Sony, and Xolo. You will also have to enter your PIN code to check if the exchange offer is available at your location.
To put the price cut into perspective, the OnePlus One 16GB and 64GB variants are priced at Rs 18,998 and Rs 21,998 respectively.
To recap, the Mi 4 flaunts a 5-inch full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 441ppi. It is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM.
