Details about Samsung‘s new smartphones under its C-series have continued to emerge online. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy C9 Pro, which is also the company’s first smartphone to come with 6GB of RAM. While the Galaxy C9 Pro has officially launched, Samsung is also expected to launch two new smartphones, Galaxy C7 Pro and Galaxy C5 Pro. Recently, the Galaxy C7 Pro was spotted on the import-export site Zauba, and now the Galaxy C5 Pro has also been spotted on the website. Listing suggests both smartphones could launch soon, though a few rumors say the two devices could be launched as early as next month. According to the listing, the Samsung smartphone bears the model number SM-C5010, believed to be the Galaxy C5 Pro. The Zauba listing reveals a price tag of Rs 20,483, but it does not necessarily indicate the official price. It is also worth noting that the two smartphones could not launch in India though, as Samsung had skipped the Indian market for its last Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. According to rumors so far, the Galaxy C5 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy C7 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 626 processor. So far, there are no further information about the specifications of these two smartphones. As the names suggest, the Galaxy C5 Pro and Galaxy C7 pro will be the successor to the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. To recap, the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 come with a similar set of specifications but differ in terms of display size, processor and battery size.
The Galaxy C5 features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display. At the heart, the smartphone runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It comes in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB with an option to expand the storage up to 128GB via a microSD card. The Galaxy C5 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a 2,600mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support. The smartphone’s connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS and NFC.
The Galaxy C7, on the other hand, features a bigger 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display. Under the hood runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. It is powered by a bigger 3,000mAh battery along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Besides the new C-series phones, Samsung is also rumored to launch a new version of its Galaxy J smartphone, dubbed as the Galaxy J3 (2017). The smartphone will be the successor to the Galaxy J3 (2016), and the upcoming smartphone is expected to come with improvements over its predecessor. It is said to feature a 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon quad-core processor, Adreno 308 GPU, and 1.5GB of RAM. It is expected to feature 16GB on-board storage.
The smartphone is said to sport a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, face detection, HDR and touch focus. Up front is likely to be a 2-megapixel selfie camera. On the software front, the smartphone is expected to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The upcoming smartphone too could come with features like the S-bike mode and ultra data saving mode as seen in the Galaxy J series smartphones. The Galaxy J3 (2017) is also expected to be priced around $200 which roughly translates to Rs 13,700.
