In addition to announcing the availability of the mapping apps, Jolla also announced that its smartphone users will be able to download and use a lot of Android apps via the Yandex.Store. For those who are unfamiliar, Yandex.Store is an app store for Android, which offers more than 85,000 apps including the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Angry Birds, and more. Like the Play Store, Yandex.Store also delivers in-app purchase options to users, and is available in 37 languages.

Finally, Jolla also invited developers to create apps for the OS, by giving them access to Sailfish SDK for free. They can submit new apps to Jolla Harbour an in-house application publishing portal.
